Suzanne Gazda, MD—President and Co-Founder
A graduate of The University of Texas Health Science Center of San Antonio, Dr. Gazda has devoted over 23 years to the day-to-day practice of neurological medicine and related clinical research in the area of multiple sclerosis. Director of Integra Clinical Research, Dr. Gazda also serves as Medical Director for the South Texas Multiple Sclerosis Center, affiliated with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
A noted speaker and presenter, Dr. Gazda has been acknowledged by industry organizations and consumer media, with recognition for six years as a “Texas Super Doctor” in Texas Monthly magazine. Her published works span a range of studies in all facets of neurological diseases and disorders. Dr. Gazda is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Neurological Society.
Sally Baynton, DM, PhD—Vice-President and Co-Founder
Sally Baynton has taught young adults for over 20 years, last serving as head of the Developmental English Program at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She holds two doctorates, one in education and one in organizational management.
Lisa is the owner of LMByington Enterprises, Inc., which provides corporate and non-profit meeting and event planning. For over 30 years, she has worked with Fortune 500 companies including major pharmaceutical companies, financial firms and sports teams. Lisa lives in San Antonio, TX and has supported health and humanitarian non-profits since 2002.
Anne Leonard, MPH, RN:
Anne is a Science and Medicine Senior Advisor for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA). She assists the Stroke Council in the development of Stroke Guidelines rising from the Stroke Council. She and another group of nursing volunteers received the Meritorious Achievement Award in 2013, for work in starting the State of the Science Stroke Nursing Symposium, that commences each year in February during the AHA/ASA International Stroke Conference. Before Anne became an employee of the AHA/ASA, she worked for many years as a volunteer and has served on numerous national and international boards throughout her nursing career. Anne and her husband, Dan, live in San Antonio, TX.
Laurel was born and raised in San Francisco, California and is a recent graduate of The University of San Diego with a degree in Business. She is an avid community leader, dedicating her time in service to several non-profits. Laurel and her fiancé currently live in Austin, TX.
Becky Rinard, RN:
Becky is the Senior Executive Neurology Sales Specialist at Teva Neuroscience where she promotes products for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Parkinson’s Disease (PD). She has been an RN for 20 years, and continues to work closely with local neurologists and within the MS and PD communities in Central Texas. She has two daughters and lives in New Braunfels, TX.
Russ is the manager of the Ochoco Irrigation District in Prineville, OR, where he is currently working with the City of Prineville on a habitat conservation plan that addresses the presence of steelhead, a fish listed in the Endangered Species Act. Russ is a minister and a humanitarian, which have taken him on humanitarian and mission trips to Central America, China, and Uganda. Russ is passionate about respecting the dignity of those that are the poorest around the world, especially women and children. Russ and his wife Rhonda have been married for over 30, and currently sponsor, Sarah, a child living N.S. at our Odek Center.
Michelle Grant Schenecker:
Michelle is a Broadcast Talent Agent at Ken Lindner and Associates since December of 2012, representing news, host, sports and weather talent. Michelle’s passion for discovering and helping talent comes from many years of working on both sides of the camera. Prior to joining KLA, Michelle worked as a broadcaster (anchor/reporter) and producer at CNN in Washington, D.C., WHDH-TV in Boston, and E! Entertainment Television in both Los Angeles and New York. As a consultant and talent recruiter with The Broadcast Image Group for eight years, Michelle successfully placed talent at many local news stations and syndicated programs throughout the country. A native Texan, Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity University. She lives in San Antonio with her husband and son.

GiGi is one of Manhattan’s leading luxury new development real estate experts and has procured over $1 billion dollars in sales throughout her 14-year career working at Manhattan’s premier residential brokerage firms. She lives in Manhattan, NY.
Wendy M. Richard, JD, MSSW
Wendy is an accomplished biopharmaceutical professional with proven strengths in key opinion leader development, strategic planning, training & development, and sales & marketing. She received her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College, holds a Masters of Social Work and her law degree from the University of Texas in Austin. Wendy, her husband, and two children live in Houston, TX.
Angwech Collines—Country Director in Uganda
Angwech Collines is a native Ugandan and graduate of Gulu University, with a degree in Development Studies. Collines toured with Invisible Children in 2011, speaking at over 50 universities. Collines oversees daily operations of Hope for Humans’ first Care Center in Odek and coordinates operations between the teams in Uganda and the US. Compassionate, eloquent, and determined, Collines is loved by the Acholi people and serves as a translator for the villagers and the English-speaking workers in Odek.
Our team in Uganda addresses the day to day needs of the children in our Care Center. Without them there would be no Hope for Humans!
